Team Swinburne Work
FSAE Team Swinburne is a University club and team of students with different backgrounds and study disciplines that work together to design, build, and test a race car from scratch. We compete with other universities around Australia, New Zealand and even Japan and Germany.
I worked on a few areas of the team, whether it's Content on Video and photography, Product design and prototyping, Livery design, and graphic imagery.
I have been a designer In TEAM Swinburne FSAE for about 3 years, from learning and starting to apply design ideas from TS-18 to designing and building parts for Ts-19 and Ts-20 cars.
During the 2019 new design and management team, I was responsible for the Ergonomics and unique designs on Seat and manufacturing. First, the team discusses making a cost-effective car for the 2019 season, exploring new methods and acquiring other manufacturing setups and materials.
From Making Prototypes from carboard to visualise what the seat size and form to the driver. Using Solidworks to design the seat and Plug. For this season we constructed the seat from fibreglass. as its cheaper than Carbon fibre.
The start of the Steering wheel concepts.
The critical aspect of the design was to keep it simple as the car is running a digital dash for driver information and data logging for the Power and electric team.
I examined laser cut plastic to represent the base frame of the wheel, which would become a water-jet cut steel part. 3D printed handles progressed from clay and foam mock-ups to be 3D design parts for 3D printing later.
TS-20 CAR
As the livery designer for the Team, The design ideas were expressed for the new brand guidelines for the Team. Using our newly designed logo of the Boar and element,
These concepts of using abstract shapes and unique styles to find good ideas for the new car for 2020/2021
Final Livery design
Substance painter made the Final Design the 3D design tool to craft the livery on the 3D design Car.
I altered the design to fit sponsors and logo placements to rep the full sponsorship for the presentation.
